Details
A substantial serving piece made in France circa 1930. Very pretty, clean Art Deco decoration in bright navy to cobalt blue on white ceramic.
Overall, excellent vintage condition. These pieces appear unused. I would recommend caution when using. Acidic foods may stain and very hot food or water when washing could increase the crazing.
Specific condition notes:
Bowl: some edge wear on handles, roughness on lip appears to be in the making
Under Plate: some crazing and minor smears of blue decoration
Lid: a one inch round spot where there is no glaze, again a problem in the making
Measurements:
Bowl: 10 inch diameter without handles, 12.75 inches with handles
Under Plate: 11.75 inch diameter
Lid: 10.75 inch diameter
Overall height: 6.375 inches
Maker’s Marks:
Bowl and under plate: Black stamp with a windmill and “NORD” encircled by “Orchies Moulin de Loups & Hamage”
Stamped “PANTIN” possibly referring to a commune north of Paris
