Very old tea bowl or cup with no markings to let us know it's birth. It was purchased on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where many Asian treasures reside, landing here during the days of our many sea captains.
It has a unique method of decoration. The painting is doubled. There is a base of indigo blue color under the first clear glaze and then a deep purple with slightly skewed placement over the blue. The purple is also under a clear glaze. Really pretty.
Condition: Overall crazing. Some roughness to the bottom rim that may be from the making. No hairlines. One small fleabite on the lower edge.
Markings: the bottom has two small purple dots and a letter that may be an "h."
Measurements: 3.75 inch diameter 2.5 inches high
