Antique Imari Porcelain Hand Painted Caster Set Sterling Iron Red Gold Blue England

$45.00

Details

Adorable porcelain cruet and sterling set probably made in England in the early 20th century.

The neck of the handled piece is marked with and "i", lion passant and a worn sheild, symbols indicating a London 1904 manufacture date, but I am no expert. The threaded and pierced top is not marked but behaves like silver.

The four piece set includes a small uncovered bowl, a handled pot with a silver rim, a shaker with a threaded top and a silver plate stand.

The porcelain pieces are hand-painted with Imari colours of red and blue on white. The deep cobalt flow blue is underglaze and the iron red and gold on top.

Condition: Small bowl has a hairline on one edge, the handled pot has two hairlines from the top to the base mostly visible from the interior, shaker is pristine, and the stand had considerable tarnish and wearing of plate.

The stand measures 4.5 inches high and 5 inches wide. Bowl is 1 inch high with a 2 inch diameter. Shaker is 3 inches high. Handled pot is 2 inches high.
