Dating from the early 20th century.
Box has carved poppies, a swing hinge and inset areas to hold the scales.
Vintage balancing opium scale, hand carved wood with poppy plant carving on both exterior faces.
Balancing scale, and strings fits neatly inside the box. The scale is complete, excepting the balance weight(s) and in very good condition. The weighing pans appear to be bronze.
Approximately 6 inches box, 1.5 inches diameter scale plates.
